In 2001 Governor Roy Barnes rushed a new flag design through the Georgia General Assembly. This compromise flag failed as it still included the 1956 flag. <NEXT>

After the 1956 flag was repealed as the Georgia state flag in 2001, the city of Trenton, Georgia adopted it as its official city flag. The CSA Third Natioanl Flag is also flown by the city (in the city park).<NEXT>
