The Lodge Crest

The Lodge crest has been used by Glandore since the lodge was constituted in 1922 and is linked to the Rev. Samuel Cochrane  the first Worshipful Master of Glandore Lodge.  The Royal Armory (Burke) lists Cochrane of Ochiltree, Scotland with the following description:

Ar. a chev. gu. betw. three boars’ heads erased az. a bordure of the second.

The shorthand used in the entry translates to:
A Silver or white shield, a red chevron between three boars heads torn from the body, coloured blue and a border of red. Crest - a Silver or White horse walking.

In heraldry argent (Silver or White) represents sincerity or peace, the chevron represents the roof of a house and signifies protection or faithful service, and the boars head hospitality and the horse readiness for duty.
